This weeks young mens lesson is how we are children of God. He loves us all, even the majority of the world who defile everything sacred. Despite that we are still his family. We can not control how our "family" behaves, acts, or treats us what we can control is how we act, behave, and treat others including family. Family is central to Gods plan, even the inlaws we think are a little crazy, lazy, or racey. (I know it's not a word but I needed something to rhyme)

Family is simply the people we love, cherish and care about. You don't have to be blood related to be family. Just as we have a family here on earth, we have a much bigger family in God's eyes. He sends us people to be our physical family, but in the big picture, we are all family. With the temple it shows this. If you think about it, all those who have had the blessing of being sealed are one big gigantic family. It's kind of awesome, the whole gospel that we are a part of.

Family is permanent. Whether these are the people you are related to by blood or those you choose to love. Family is permanent. forever. You don't give up on them, you share, give love, laugh, sometimes fight but you keep it going.

I 've always thought it interesting that most of us don't pick our families (except spouses) but when things are done right on both ends family becomes the people we love most on this earth.

Being a military wife has given me a different perspective on what family truly is. Because I am so far away from my "blood" family I have to create family wherever we get stationed. I consider many of my friends to my sisters because I know that they will always be there for me no matter what happens. I consider many of their husbands my brothers because they would also step in to help at the drop of a hat with love and support. while I was in Hawaii I had many sisters older than me that were in my ward step in to teach me and guide me when I was a newly wed. They were my mothers and grandmothers.
I feel like where ever we go I just keep adding to my family, my support system, the people I love, the people I count on. They are just an expansion of my blood family members on the earth and I would take a bullet for them just like my own.
A family is something you create. Just like any relationship there is work involved. When either party refuse to work to be a family then there is none. Just like marriage it takes both sides to work hard.

Family is love. Anyone you love can be your family. Family will always be there for you. Just as you can have family that isn't blood related, I think you can have blood relatives who aren't really family.

Family are the people that I love, the people that I want around for the exciting things in my life, and the ones that are there when i need help. For me it consists of my parents, my siblings, and my two best friends and their families. I think that anyone can be your family as long as you can depend on eachother.

Family is anybody who comes into your life through God, marriage, friendships, and even through the gift of adoption. Family also means to love those people unconditional to except that everybody is different, lets face it life would be boring if we weren't, and has their faults. Keeping a good strong family takes work on everybody's part. Nobody is better then the next. Family is pulling together in the good times and in the bad times. It is understanding that nobodies happiness, achievements, pain, anger, or loss it bigger then the next and needs to be the sole focus. Its not putting another family member down when there life goes how you wished your life would have. Its standing together in EVERYTHING! When things get bad as it does in every family they come together to work things out and become stronger as a unit. Family is not just the good times but the bad and a true family will not turn there backs on another member of the family for any reason. Family is for life when it comes to friendships and for Eternity when it comes to those who God has chosen for you, the ones who marry into what God has already set in place, and for those great gifts we are given through adoption. I live by the saying "You can't take your possessions with you when you leave this earth all you have is your family so build a strong one now for that is all you will have in the end."
